O presidente do Federal Reserve (Fed)<\/a>, Jerome Powell, afirmou nesta sexta-feira (6) que o banco central norte-americano far\u00e1 o que for necess\u00e1rio para sustentar o crescimento da economia<\/strong> dos Estados Unidos<\/strong>.<\/p>\t

Para que a economia continue crescendo, Powell ressaltou que o Fed<\/strong> pretende propiciar novos est\u00edmulos para a economia ainda neste ano.<\/p>\n\n

“O Fed achou adequado reduzir as taxas de juros<\/strong> e isso tem apoiado a economia. Essa \u00e9 uma das raz\u00f5es pelas quais as perspectivas ainda s\u00e3o favor\u00e1veis”, ressaltou o presidente do banco central estadunidense.<\/p>\n

Segundo Powell, a economia norte-americana enfrenta um cen\u00e1rio positivo. No entanto, as incertezas comerciais fazem com que o crescimento econ\u00f4mico global seja mais fraco.<\/p>\n

“Nossa obriga\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 usar nossas ferramentas para apoiar a economia, e \u00e9 isso que continuaremos a fazer”, disse Powell.<\/p>\n

Trump pede ao Fed um novo corte de juros<\/h2>\n

Nesta sexta-feira, o presidente dos EUA, Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>, voltou a falar que o banco central precisa realizar um novo corte de juros<\/strong>. Na \u00faltima ter\u00e7a-feira (3), o mandat\u00e1rio declarou que o Federal Reserve n\u00e3o age como necess\u00e1rio.<\/p>\n

“Eles s\u00e3o pagos para emprestar dinheiro”, escreveu Trump no Twitter, fazendo refer\u00eancia a outros pa\u00edses que t\u00eam juros baixos. “Nosso Federal Reserve n\u00e3o age!”, disse o presidente.<\/p>\n

Em agosto, o presidente fez diversas cr\u00edticas a Powell. Em sua conta no Twitter, Trump afirmou que a economia norte-americana est\u00e1 muito forte. Entretanto, o presidente do Federal Reserve tenta fazer parecer o oposto, como estrat\u00e9gia para as elei\u00e7\u00f5es de 2020.<\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m disso, o presidente chamou Powell de “sem no\u00e7\u00e3o” e disse que o Fed<\/strong> \u00e9 um problema para a economia do pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

“Indo muito bem com a China<\/a> e outros acordos comerciais. O \u00fanico problema que temos \u00e9 Jay Powell. Ele \u00e9 como um jogador de golfe que n\u00e3o consegue jogar, n\u00e3o tem talento”, disse Trump.<\/p>\n

Taxa de juros dos Estados Unidos<\/h2>\n

Em julho, o banco central norte-americano reduziu a taxa de juros do pa\u00eds pela primeira vez desde a crise econ\u00f4mica de 2008. Dessa forma, as taxas ca\u00edram para 2% a 2,25% ao ano.<\/p>\n

Segundo o Federal Reserve, o corte foi motivado por conta das “implica\u00e7\u00f5es de desdobramentos globais para a perspectiva econ\u00f4mica, bem como press\u00f5es inflacion\u00e1rias fracas”.<\/p>\n\t
